Etiquette

1. Don’t call someone more than twice continuously. If they don’t pick up your call, presume they have something important to attend to;

2. Return money that you have borrowed even before the other person remembers asking for it from you.
It shows your integrity and character. Same goes with umbrellas, pens and lunch boxes;

3. Never order the expensive dish on the menu when someone is giving you a lunch/dinner.
If possible ask them to order their choice of food for you;

4. Don’t ask awkward questions like ‘Oh so you aren’t married yet?’ Or ‘Don’t you have kids’ or
‘Why didn’t you buy a house?’ Or why don't you buy a car? For God’s sake it isn’t your problem;

5. Always open the door for the person coming behind you. It doesn’t matter if it is a guy or a girl, senior or junior.
You don’t grow small by treating someone well in public;

6. If you take a taxi with a friend and he/she pays now, try paying next time;

7. Respect different shades of opinions. Remember what's 6 to you will appear 9 to someone facing you.
Besides, second opinion is good for an alternative;

8. Never interrupt people talking. Allow them to pour it out. As they say, hear them all and filter them all;

9. If you tease someone, and they don’t seem to enjoy it, stop it and never do it again.
It encourages one to do more and it shows how appreciative you're;

10. Say “thank you” when someone is helping you.

11. Praise publicly. Criticize privately;

12. There’s almost never a reason to comment on someone’s weight. Just say, “You look fantastic.”
If they want to talk about losing weight, they will;

13. When someone shows you a photo on their phone, don’t swipe left or right. You never know what’s next;

14. If a colleague tells you they have a doctors' appointment, don’t ask what it’s for, just say "I hope you’re okay".
Don’t put them in the uncomfortable position of having to tell you their personal illness.
If they want you to know, they'll do so without your inquisitiveness;

15. Treat the cleaner with the same respect as the CEO. Nobody is impressed at how rude you can treat
someone below you but people will notice if you treat them with respect;

16. If a person is speaking directly to you, staring at your phone is rude;

17. Never give advice until you’re asked;

18. When meeting someone after a long time, unless they want to talk about it, don’t ask them their age and salary;

19. Mind your business unless anything involves you directly - just stay out of it;

 20. Remove your sunglasses if you are talking to anyone in the street. It is a sign of respect. Moreso, eye contact is as important as your speech;

21. Never talk about your riches in the midst of the poor. Similarly, don't talk about your children in the midst of the barren...or talk about your spouses around those who don't have.

22. Lastly, Share a post you learnt from to help others learn too. Your share can be the one that makes it go viral.

Strategic Change

What is Strategic Change ?
Strategic change is the systematic allocation of resources to alter a current state for the achievement of a specific purpose to gain competitive advantage.

Why we need change ?
Because our natural instinct is to evolve to better ourselves.
In order to do this we need to change according to our environment or even better create our environment.

What is an Exciton?

  • It is a bound state of an electron & hole which are attracted to each other by the electrostatic coulomb force.

Exciton Energy Levels

  • An Exciton forms when a photon is absorbed by a Semiconductor (Semiconductor is a material that has a small band gap between the VB & CB).
  • Exciton exists in insulators, semiconductors & some liquids.
  • An Exciton pair is defined as an electron & hole that it leaves behind when it is excited up to the CB.
  • An Exciton Bohr Radius is the distance in an electron - hole pair.

Definitions

Co-factor
Non-protein  chemical compound that is bound to a protein.

Con-enzyme
If the co-factor is organic,then it is co-enzyme.

Apo Enzyme
Protein component of an enzyme to which the co-enzyme attaches to form an active enzyme.

Is a kind of co-factor which is a organic molecule that is permanently attached to an enzyme.

Regulatory Enzyme (Adjustable Enzyme)
Control the rate of reaction by an enzyme by some effector (inhibitor or activator) or by alternation of some conditions such as pH.

Allosteric Enzyme
Function through reversible non-covalent binding of a regulatory metabolic at a site other than catalytic active site.

DNA Intercalation
It is an insertion by covalent linkage of  a molecule into the double-stranded Deoxyribonucleotide polymer between internal bone pairs stacked one on another perpendicular to the double helix axis.

Few shots from my drawings :)

These drawings are drawn during my secondary & tertiary school career.

Is there any difference between Erlenmeyer Flask & Conical Flask?

No,there is no difference between them.
Both are same.
Both are used in many chemical experiments in laboratory such as for titration,for boiling,for chemical mixing and so on.

Why do we Standardize a Solution?

Sometimes we should have to standardize Solutions (Reagents) before starting a chemical experiments because,it will allow us to get correct readings during the experiment whereas the exact concentration of the solution could be different.And as well as by standardizing a solution we could minimize the deviation of instrumental errors & random human errors too.Therefore,it is good to standardize and get actual concentration at the initiation of the experiment.

Bulk Modulus (K) for a gas

Average Bulk Modulus = - Change of Pressure/Change of Volume per unit volume
                             = - dP/(dV/V)
                             = - V (dP/dV)

If we keep temperature as constant we called that as isothermal bulk modulus.

Proof of Bulk Modulus (K) for a gas is given by,

Introduction to Java for Beginners

Java is a programming language done by Sunmicro Systems which is heavily use for web applications,standard application…etc.James Gosling is the founder of the Java.

jdk Software
To work with Java programmes you need to have jdk software.

Version on jdk
1.2, 1.2.1, 1.3, 1.4, 1.5,1.6,...and so on.

Where jdk installed
If you have a jdk 1.5.0 it will create folder on C drive called Java.There you finding the Java software.

Installing jdk 1.5.0 software
jdk 1.5.0 helps you to install Java your computer system by this jdk 1.5.0 work with Java language.

Seting with the Java compliments
Go to the command prompt and seting the Java path.

Seting path temporaly
Go to the command prompt and type like this
Set path=C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0\bin

Seting path permanantly
Go to the notepad and type Set path=C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0\bin and save as autoexec.bat on the C drive and restart the machine.

Checking whether path properly set
Type: - C:\path
      PATH= C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0\bin

1. What will happen if path will upset?
   the error message displaying in the command prompt as " Java
   cannot be recognizing as internal or external command."

2. How do I check whether Java is installed to my computer?
   go to the command prompt then type Java and enter.

Printing numbers from 0001 to 9999 which will leave out numbers adding up to thirteen | Mathematica Program

The number 13 is traditionally considered to be an unlucky number in many countries. It even has a specifically recognized phobia, Triskaidekaphobia, a word which was coined in 1911. The superstitious sufferers of triskaidekaphobia try to avoid bad luck by keeping away from anything numbered or labeled thirteen. As a result, companies and manufacturers use another way of numbering or labeling to avoid the number, with hotels and tall buildings being conspicuous examples (Thirteenth floor). It's also considered to be unlucky to have thirteen guests at a table. Friday the 13th has been considered the unluckiest day of the month.
And the Colombia Shuttle was sent into space on 16/1/2003.
    1 + 6 + 1 + 2 + 0 + 0 + 3 = 13
The shuttle was exploded during re-entry and all its crew members died.

So, most Sri Lankans also consider number 13 as unlucky. Hence, the Government of Sri Lanka rejects vehicle registration numbers which add ups to thirteen.
                            i.e. 6412 = 6 + 4 + 1 + 2 = 13

Therefore, following Mathematica Program is to find the numbers from 1 to 9999, which will leave out numbers adding up to thirteen.
